Clinical Research Manager

JOB SUMMARY:  The Clinical Research Manager is responsible for the organization, coordination, and overall integrity of Pain Research of Charleston clinical trials.

DESCRIPTION: Senior Research Coordinator reports directly to Medical Director. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage Pain Research of Charleston practice, including clinical research coordination, regulatory, quality assurance, data and protocol management, and clinical budget development and allocation;
  • Assists the principal investigator in negotiating contracts and developing the protocol budget.  in collaboration with Research Administration and the Grants and Contracts offices. Work with Sponsors and CRO’s in the reporting and accounting of these funds;
  • Formulate, implement and interpret department policies specifically related to Pain Research of Charleston clinical operations;
  • Design and conduct studies; write manuscripts for peer-review publications; conducts statistical analysis of data;
  • Collect, enter, analyze and present data; complete assigned reports as required by government or agency officials;
  • Supervise and direct Pain Research of Charleston staff, including recruitment, training, work flow management and performance evaluations;
  • Serve as liaison between the University, local and state government agencies, and other participating agencies;
  • Research Pain Research policy, benchmarks and clinical literature; analyze medical trends and make strategic recommendations for practice/study development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, public health, or related clinical discipline with minimum 5 years experience.

Research Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, performs duties associated with coordinating and implementing community research studies and projects.

DESCRIPTION:  Research Coordinator reports directly to Senior Research Coordinator. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Pain Research of Charleston Research studies; write manuscripts for peer-review publications; conduct statistical analysis of data;
  • Recruit and screen study patients; support enrolling patients onto clinical trials through recruitment, screening and assessment of patient eligibility for inclusion in studies and follow up on eligible subjects according to protocol requirements;
  • Collect information through charts, interviews, questionnaires and test results; maintain logs and inventory of study products and supplies for use;
  • Organize and/or draft material for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, articles or other documents for CROs/ investigators, publication and/or presentation;
  • Assist the principal investigator, Senior Research Coordinator and financial coordinator with various administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of research studies and projects.
